My New year's resolutions

Every year I make the same New year's resolutions, but this year I added one more. 1. To read one book(Korean or English) a month. - To be frank with you, I didn't finish reading even one book this year so I want to read more books in 2018. 2. To improve my English skills - I want to improve my English skills, especially speaking so I will practice speaking, listening and writing. 3. To lose some weight - I need to lose about 5kg so that I can be healthy, so I have to walk or ride a bicycle for about 30 minutes every day. 4. To improve my piano skills - I have been practicing the piano by myself since I learned how to play the piano at a paino institute for three months. I will attend a piano institute near my house. That's all! Did you make any new year's resolutions?

When my children believed in Santa Claus!

When my children were very young, Christmas was a special day for my family. My children wanted to receive something special from Santa Claus. Every year my husband and I bought some presents and gave them to their daycare center for Christmas festival. One day, a long time ago, my youngest daughter came home with a big present. "Mommy! I received a big gift from Santa Claus. My friends envied me", said my daughter. She unwrapped it with excitement. It was a big dark brown bear. She looked so excited and very happy. Many years later, she learned the truth that her daddy prepared it for her as a Christmas present.

Merry Christmas!

I work at a daycare center as a teacher. Every year there is a Christmas Festival for children at work. A few days ago, my co-workers and I already packed some Christmas presents for the children. Yesterday we had a Christmas Festival. Santa Claus in red clothes visited us to give the presents to the children. When the children looked at him, some looked a little bit nervous. Santa Claus called the children names and gave the presents. He also gave me and my co-workers small presents. My boss already prepared some presents for us. I was happy to receive it from Santa Claus and took a picture with him. I had never received any gifts from Santa claus at work. This Christmas was special.

Camping and picking tangerines! at Jeju Geulbik camp site ; 제주 귤빛 캠핑장에서 귤따기 체험

At this time last year, I went camping with my family at Geulbik(귤빛) camp site where was next to Jeju tangerines orchards. We enjoyed picking some tangerines as well as camping. My daughter showed how to pick the tangerines on Youtube. We will go there again this month. Have a nice day! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CO4HLKrUkVI

‘무용지물(無用之物) or ‘무용지용(無用之用) / useless thing or useful thing

A long time ago, I saw a good story on TV. One day, a man found a large tree, but there were no other such large and nice trees in the area. He studied the tree carefully to know the reason. He discovered a new fact that it was not good for wood, while normally large trees are used for wood. In the end, the tree was able to grow into a large tree, because it had been ignored by humans a long time ago for that reason, 'Useless thing, '무용지물'. Now, it is no longer a useless thing, but is a good tree giving a resting place to animals, plants and human. In this case, we say Muyongjiyong, '무용지용(無用之用)' in Korean. Have you ever regretted throwing away something that you thought of being useless? In other words, are there something that one day useless things, you thought so at first, were made good use? I would like to say that even something insignificant could also someday be made good use of. ////// 오래 전에 TV에서 괜찮은 이야기를 들었어요. 어느 날, 한 사람이 아주 큰 나무를 발견했는데, 그 주위에...

Such a long holiday!, '한국의 긴 휴일'

From Sept. 30 through Oct. 9, a lot of Koreans will have a long holiday because there are six kinds of holidays such as Korean Thanksgiving day, the National Foundation Day and Hangul Proclamation Day, a substitution holiday, a temporary holiday and Sunday. There won't be long holidays anymore in the near future for Korea. I don't have any plan to enjoy the holidays, but I hope to have a great time with my family and friends. I might go camping, watch movies at the theater, visit my parents house, eat out, drink alcohol, go sightseeing and climb hills etc.

To go abroad on vacation!

I have been busy for a while with my work so I have been tired. Now I am very happy at my new job. Most of all, on Saturday, July 22 I will go to Da Nang, in Vietnam with my coworkers and director. Since I went to Thailand and Hong Kong with my husband on vacation in 2011, this is my second time travelling abroad. My director will pay half of the trip per person. We will come back on Wednesday, July 26. Yesterday morning I got a haircut and dyed my hair at a hair salon near my house. I also took a passport photo in the afternoon. This Monday I will go to the provincial administration for my passport application. Before I go to Da Nang, I will also search for some information like weather, food, culture etc. I really want to go abroad with my family but we don't have much time because of our work. Someday we hope to go abroad on vacation.

New work!

Yesterday after work I attended the meeting for teachers from 4 daycare centers. This March I will work at a new daycare centet so the meeting was very important for me to make a good relationship with new coworkers. I was a little bit worried about the new changes. We had dinner, listened a lecture, played games and talked about work. After staying one night together we got to be friends. I am really looking forward to working with my new co-workers^^

Goblin! 도깨비!

I still remember the famous quote from the drama 'goblin', Kim Sin. It was so brilliant all the time when I was with you, no matter what the weather was good, not good or proper. I loved all days with you!" said Kim Sin to his bride. "너와 함께 한 시간 모두 눈부셨다. 날이 좋아서, 날이 좋지 않아서, 날이 적당해서,모든 날이 좋았다."라고 김신은 그의 신부에게 말했다.

Getting a good job!

Since I moved to a new house last June, I have driven to work. So I wanted to get a new job near my house. Yesterday I had a job interview for about 40 minutes. Today I received a good call. This March, I will work at a new daycare center. It takes about ten minutes to get there on foot. I can save money and time. Best of all, I will get a higher salary.
