The myth of Samsunghyel, '삼성혈'

삼성혈 is one of the popular places to visit in Jeju. Besides, Snow never lays and water never collects at 삼성혈 even if it rains or snows heavily. 4300years ago, 3gods were born as human beings at 삼성혈, three holes on the land. They named themselves like Ko Ulla(고을라), Yang Ulla(양을라) and Bu Ulla(부을라). One day, they climbed to the top of Halla mountain and found a big wooden box at the east sea. They opened it at the Onpyeong(온평) beach in Seongsan-eup(성산읍). There were 3 princesses and an envoy who came from Byuknang nation(벽랑국) in the big wooden box. The envoy introduced 3 princesses to them like that the princesses came here to get marry them and build a nation. And the envoy disappeared suddenly. So they married them and built Tamra nation(탐라국). In the end, they became progenitors of Tama nation. Jejudo has some names. Tamrado is one of them. Next time let me introduce them. Let me introduce my family tree. I am a descendant of Ko Ulla(고을라). 1. The progenitor(고시조) : Ko Ulla(고을라) 2. The second progenitor(중시조) : Ko Mallo(고말로), 46th generation of 고을라‘s progenitor. 중시조 means that his family were flourished thanks to 고말로 so his descendant followed him as a second progenitor. 3. Group(파) : 9 special descendants from the second progenitor , 고말로. 파 means like the second progenitor. 성주공파(고말로 10세), 장흥백파, 전서공파, 문정공파, 영곡공파, 화전군파, 상당군파, 양경공파, 문충공파. 4. Laura - Where am I from? 44 generation of the 성주공파. It means that I am one of over 100 generations from 고을라, the progenitor. In fact, the Koreans have the old family tree(족보) because Korea has a long history.

It snowed a lot last weekend. The next day many schools and kindergartens were closed so I didn't go to work. 'The Great Battle, Ansi Castle', 영화 '안시성'

Today I watched the nice movie, 'The Great Battle, Ansi Castle'. 1400 years ago, The Korean Peninsula was divided into three nations; Goguryeo. Baekje and Silla. At the time, China King, Lee Se min invaded Goguryeo and captured some castles in Goguryeo. When Lee Se Min invaded 'Ansi Castle', the lord of the Ansi castle was Yang Man Chun. Yang Man chun had only 5000 soldiers compared to Lee Se Min's 200 thousand soldiers. Before the battle, Yang Man Chun called on his soldiers and people; We didn't learn how to retreat, to bend our knees and to yield.
