A bag of snacks, ‘과자 한 봉지’

A woman bought a bag of snacks and a magazine at a snack bar when she waited for her flight. She had some time so she was reading the magazine while sitting in the waiting room. After a short while, she looked to the side where there was some rustling sound. A man next to her was opening the bag of snacks that she just put down on the chair. She was very surprised, but she felt too awkward to say anything, so she just picked a snack and ate it. He looked so calm and natural. When she had one then he also had one. They ate the snacks together. At last there was only one snack left. He picked the last one. He noticed that there was only one snack left in the bag so he divided it into half, put the half in the bag again and ate the other half. And then he got up with a smile. "How shameless he was!" she said. She was annoyed with his attitude. When she got on the plane, she was still very angry. But what a surprise! When she opened her paper bag to take out some kleenexes for her glasses, the snacks she bought were in there. The snacks that she ate was really his. What do you think of this story? People tend to blame others without knowing their own fault. ............. 어느 여인이 비행기를 기다리다가 매점에서 잡지 한 권과 과자 한 봉지를 사들고 왔다. 아직은 시간이 있어서 대합실에 앉아 잡지책을 넘기고 있었다. 잠시 뒤 뭔가 부스럭거리는 소리에 옆을 쳐다봤다. 옆에 앉은 어떤 신사가 방금 자기가 놓아둔 과자봉지를 뜯고 있는 것이었다. 깜짝 놀랐지만 뭐라고 말하기도 그렇고 하여 그냥 자기도 과자를 하나 집어 입에 넣었다. 그 남자는 너무도 태연했고 자연스러웠다. 여자가 하나 집어먹으면 자기도 하나 집어 입에 넣는 것이었다. 서로 계속해서 그렇게 하나씩 집어먹었다. 이제 과자가 딱 하나 남게 되었다. 그 남자가 그 마지막 과자를 집어 들었다. 과자가 이제 없다는 것을 알았는지 절반으로 쪼개어서는 절반을 봉지에 다시 올려놓고 절반은 자기 입에 넣었다. 그리고는 씽긋 웃으면서 자리에서 일어났다. “어휴 저렇게 뻔뻔스러울 수가…"그녀는 말했다. 그녀가 비행기에 올랐을 때도 그 남자의 뻔뻔스럽고 무례한 행동에 여전히 화가 났다. 그런데 이게 웬일인가? 안경을 닦기 위해 휴지를 꺼내려고 종이가방을 열었는데 그 속에 자기가 샀던 과자가 그대로 들어앉아 있는 것이었다. 그녀가 열심히 집어먹은 과자는 실제 그 남자의 것이었다. 이 이야기에 대해 어떻게 생각하세요? 사람들은 자신의 잘못도 모른 채 남을 비난하는 경우가 있다고 생각해요.
